“We are very excited to be doing this iconic thriller for the first time in this area in many years,” said Willey. “It’s perfect for Halloween-time and a great addition to our season. It also gives us a chance to involve area folks who may wish to work backstage and in set design and construction.”
A Broadway hit, with Lee Remick, Robert Duvall, and Mitchell Ryan in the original cast, Wait Until Dark is a masterfully constructed thriller that moves from one moment of suspense to another as it builds toward an electrifying, breath-stopping final scene.
After its successful Broadway run, it was adapted for the screen. The film premiered in 1967. It starred Audrey Hepburn, Alan Arkin, Richard Crenna, Efrem Zimbalist Jr. and Jack Weston, and was produced by Hepburn’s then-husband Mel Ferrer.
