Hans Luchs is a guitarist who lives in New York City after recently relocating in the fall of 2017 from his hometown of Chicago. Hans has performed in a wide array of settings, from small jazz clubs to large outdoor festivals. Hans regularly plays at jazz clubs across the country, and has also played internationally in Sweden, the UK, Ireland, Canada, and Mexico. Hans has also performed at larger stages including The Auditorium Theatre, Rosemont Theatre, Riverside Theatre, Van Andel Arena, and House of Blues, to name a few.
Hans has performed and toured with an array of artists in American music including 8-time Grammy winner Pepe Aguilar, Motown Legend Martha Reeves, and blues singer Shirley King just to name a few. Hans has also performed, recorded, and toured with a host of wonderful jazz musicians from Chicago and beyond. Hans has also recorded and performed for NPR as a special guest musician for The Moth.
As an educator, Hans has taught private lessons and classes at the elementary, secondary, and college level. . Hans has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Performance from the University of Illinois-Chicago and a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from DePaul University.
