Music in the Park

The City of Ottawa proudly presents their “Music in the Park” Series every Saturday evening at the historic Washington Square Park! This family friendly event offers a variety of live music for all ages! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs! Rain Location: 807 LaSalle Street

June 27 – Rosie & the Rivets. Retro from head to toe, from wardrobe to instruments. Delivering danceable music from the ‘50s and ‘60s, sprinkled with current hits done with a retro twist. Featuring powerhouse lead vocals, tight harmonies and skillful musicianship.

July 11 – It Takes Two. A song selection featuring popular hits from the ‘50s all the way to modern top 40s, from dance hits to love ballads. They’re known for their diverse playlist, energetic live show, and raw talent. Check them out on Facebook.

July 18 – Radium City Rebels. Local guys who strut their stuff in true homage to Elvis, Buddy, Roy and other ‘50s icons of early rock and rockabilly. Check them out on Facebook.

July 25 – Wild Daisy. Current, upbeat country with a few pop/rock songs thrown in. Wild Daisy is no stranger to LaSalle County, having performed in Oglesby, Seneca and Sandwich events.

August 1 – The Wayouts.  You’ll hear The Animals, not The Archies! Playing the grittiest, grooviest garage rock hits from the 1960s, The Wayouts reproduce the boss sounds of rock ‘n roll’s first-generation, 3-chord anthems.

August 8 – Mary & the Troublemakers.  Powerful vocals of lead singer Mary Pfeifer are backed by keyboards, percussion and guitar as this quartet channels Roy (Orbison), (Johnny) Cash, Connie (Francis), Patsy (Cline) and Elvis, among others.

August 15 – The Classix. Their harmony jelled in the 2010s as these versatile performers blended the styles they’d developed in earlier bands into a tight tuneful brotherhood. Their covers of classic rock, country, Motown, blues and rockabilly favorites delight audiences from the Illinois State Fair to the Sandwich Fair and at clubs, events and public squares throughout Northern Illinois.

August 22 – The Sting Rays. From the collars of their signature bowling shirts to the tips of their twist-n-shout toes, the Sting Rays crack wise, rev up, and revive summer in the city. This jumpin’ & jivin’ quartet cracks open a time capsule to release tunes of the ‘50s through ‘70s and energizes the audience with trivia contests, prizes and Conga lines.

August 29 – The Flat Cats. A range of vintage and modern music rooted in the hottest swinging jazz and blues, contemporary classics, and timeless standards.
